This striking ceramic teapot is quite unusual—you either love it or hate it. With a peeping-neck spout and a chunky, round belly sitting on four legs, it reminds me of a turtle or baby elephant.
A true objet d’art and conversation piece, it is hand-thrown and hand-painted—beige, brown, and indigo converge in a mixture of stains, speckles, and vertical lines—by a young artist who lives in Moravia and studied pottery all over the world.
On a practical side, you can throw loose tea into it, because it features a set of small strainer holes pierced through the inside wall of the pot. It has a thick, upright ceramic half-circle handle and a round lid. You can comfortably brew about seven cups of tea in it. You can also buy matching mugs from the same color collection.
