    Butter, brown sugar, ginger, salt, cinnamon, turmeric, orange peel, cayenne pepper and pecans

    Melt the butter in a large skillet over high/medium-high heat. Add the pecans and cook, stirring constantly, until toasted, about 5 minutes.

    Transfer the nuts to a parchment-paper-lined, rimmed baking sheet. Spread in an even single layer and let cool.

Skillet-Roasted Spiced Pecans

There is nothing easier than this recipe. Throw some pecans, butter and spices into a pan, swirl few times, and you’re good to go.

They are perfectly seasoned—just the right balance of sweet, salty and spicy—and they taste good warm, as well as at room temperature. Make them part of your cheese plate at parties, or sprinkle some on top of a salad; they’re versatile.

  1. Serves 4–6
  2. 2 cups pecans
  3. 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  4. 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  5. 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  6. ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  7. 1 teaspoon salt
  8. 1 teaspoon dried orange peel
  9. ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  10. ½ teaspoon turmeric

Melt the butter in a large skillet over high/medium-high heat. Add the pecans and cook, stirring constantly, until toasted, about 5 minutes. Stir in the rest of the ingredients and continue cooking, until the sugar has melted and the nuts are evenly coated in the spices, about 2 minutes.

Transfer the nuts to a parchment-paper-lined, rimmed baking sheet. Spread in an even single layer and let cool. Break up the nuts and serve.
