Layers of brown and orange glaze create a pleasing abstract pattern inside and out; symmetrical distribution of small holes in a star-shaped arrangement allow for water to drain quickly and efficiently.
The colander has two small handles on each side. The bottom is left raw.
A potter makes the colander in a Northern Bohemian village. She uses local clay and fires each piece in her home kiln.
Because she handles each colander individually, there is a unique variation in color from piece to piece, and no two will look alike.
